Eric Akil is our Chief Financial Officer and a Senior Vice President. Since joining Blackstone in 2009, Mr. Akil has held various positions in Blackstone’s Real Estate finance group and helped launch the Core Plus Real Estate business and oversaw the accounting, financial reporting, and fund administration for the Core Plus Real Estate Funds.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Akil worked in the Private Equity Fund Services group at J.P. Morgan where he was involved in the financial reporting and fund management of its global private equity funds. Prior to that, Mr. Akil worked in the Audit & Advisory group at Deloitte providing assurance services to a wide range of public and private clients across multiple industries including private equity.

Mr. Akil received a B.S. in Accounting and a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
